senānīnām ahaṃ skandaḥ sarasām asmi sāgaraḥ

he pārtha (O son of Pṛthā!),
purodhasāṁ ca (and among priests) mukhyam bṛhaspatim (the chief Bṛhaspati) mām (me) viddhi (you must know),
senānīnām (among generals) aham (I) skandaḥ [asmi] (I am Skanda),
sarasām (among reservoirs of water) [aham] (I) sāgaraḥ asmi (I am an ocean).
